How do Catholics "still" persecute the "Christians" who left the Catholic Church?

I've never heard a Catholic put down another Christian denomination as not being Christians. Do some Catholics think they are better than other Christians yes because they believe the rest are misguided and don't have the full truth and want them to share in the full truth with them. Is that persecution no but is it persecution when a Christian calls a Catholic not a Christian.
