Not wanting to friend/date those of my own race: a horrible or well-founded belief?

I'm African American male and I understand what you mean. I hang out with Haitians, Africans, and African Americans that don't fall under the stereotypes given to them. Some act ghetto but not in a rude way. The ignorant ones call me white when I was even reading a book about African culture. Besides what are they doing calling you white when you are half Nigerian? You know more about your culture than they do. So ignore them.
