Did U2 ever do a cover of "Don't Forget About Me" by Simple Minds?

Someone told me this was a classic song by U2, and when I went to look it up, the only version I could find was by a band called Simple Minds. After extensively searching Google, I still couldn't find anything. Did they ever do a cover of it, or do they just sound similar?
