Whats the difference between the protestants and the Catholics?

Both are willing to follow most of the bible. The difference it that Catholics just ignore the pope when he is being an idiot ( see for example, birth control) while the protestants simple pick and choose what parts of the bible to follow and come up with elaborate ways to explain why anything inconvenient does not apply to them.
